Its new SUV is full of details that might push car owners to switch from classic combustion or hybrid engines – as well as those with full electric powertrains – to the future. The Korean automaker created a car for the European market, just like other famous Asian manufacturers, such as BYD, have done based on the market tendencies and traditional taste in the continent.

A new luxury SUV concept is coming into the European market

Usually, Europeans opt for hatch cars. Traditional brands like Renault, Volkswagen, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo have a couple of models in the streets destined for daily use – but also for those who like to put the pressure on the gas and drive fast when they can. The turbo version of the Clio, Golf, and Fiat 500 are among the favorites.

Station wagon models are also in the mix, as it’s easy to travel multiple countries just by driving a few hours. With that in mind – but also the luxury -, Genesis developed a car with enough space for the driver and the others inside the vehicle to not only enjoy the ride, but also experience something new in the industry

Genesis Neolun concept unveiled with details

Genesis continues to build its identity as a Korean luxury brand with European styling, and the Neolun Concept fits squarely into that strategy. The interior is where the brand separates itself. Built around a design philosophy called “reductive design,” the Neolun eliminates traditional screens in favor of a single roll-up display embedded in the dash — a minimalist approach that keeps the cabin clean and focused.

The name Neolun means “The New Moon,” signaling a futuristic, elegant direction. It’s a large, all-electric SUV that removes the traditional B-pillars thanks to its coach doors — a feature Genesis claims it can integrate even in a vehicle this size. The Neolun also includes electric side steps for easier entry, adding to the premium feel.

The interior and exterior design of Neolun

The exterior is finished in a two-tone Midnight Black and Majestic Blue color scheme, with chrome accents and large, mostly enclosed machined aluminum wheels. Genesis continues its signature dual-line lighting up front, with matching taillights in the rear that wrap slightly into the body. Rearview cameras replace traditional side mirrors, and the roof rack can retract into the roof when not in use — a space-saving detail.

Inside, the cabin takes a bold, simplified approach. The dash features only a handful of physical controls. The steering wheel houses most functions, including a shift lever mounted above it — an unconventional move. The heating system uses radiant heat from the floor, inspired by Korea’s traditional ondol systems, and the floors are made from dark-stained wood. Cashmere in Royal Indigo wraps much of the cabin, while the leather seats are finished in a rich Purple Silk tone.

Entertainment mode for passengers

When entertainment is in use, a hidden screen rises from the dash and can be adjusted in height. A rotating crystal sphere reveals a central speaker. Rear passengers get their own fold-down screen from the headliner, and to top things off, the front seats swivel to face the rear — making conversation easier for all passengers.

While not every feature will make it to production, the Neolun offers a strong preview of what Genesis’s vision of the next-generation SUV might look like. The design is bold, refined, and gives us a clearer sense of the brand’s ambitions in the high-end EV space.

Our coverage of events affecting companies is purely informative and descriptive.
