Some brands refuse to go fully electric and instead of adopting the new way of making cars, they prefer to rely on nostalgia by launching iconic vehicles with today’s technologies. This is a common move among the most exclusive automakers, such as Bentley, Aston Martin, or Lamborghini. On the other hand, the Italians are not fans of recycling and decided to switch things up with a new engine.

Electric vs Hybrid dilemma: Pick which one you like best

The full electric powertrain has its benefits. The full electric powertrain has its benefits – it’s clean, renewable, and the time it takes for the engine to “fill up” with power is relatively short compared to combustion. For example, there are a few videos of Tesla Cybertrucks beating Lamborghinis in drag races. Events like these turn the heads of car enthusiasts, who wonder how it’s possible, but they can’t buy a full electric car just yet.

While the future calls for renewable fuel sources, there will also be room for internal combustion engines in the streets. Those who don’t want to go fully electric can opt for a hybrid car, which combines the visceral aspects of owning a combustion car – the noise and the smell of burning gasoline – with an electric system that works simultaneously to provide more power. And that’s exactly what Lamborghini just revealed during the 2025 Monterey Car Week.

Hybrid power, but in the Lamborghini Way: New model revealed

Monterey Car Week 2025 set the stage for Lamborghini’s wildest creation yet – the Fenomeno. Built as a tribute to the company’s design tradition while pointing toward its future, the car is limited to just 29 units, making it not only rare but also the most powerful Lamborghini ever made.

Under the hood sits a reworked 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, now producing 823 horsepower at 9,250 rpm. Added to that are three electric motors, which provide another 241 horsepower, with the combined output of approximately 1,065 horsepower, and you have a super hybrid. While most hybrids focus on efficiency, this one is designed for speed, just like the new Pininfarina.

Never seen design: The Fenomeno’s aerodynamic shape

Visually, the Fenomeno is pure Lamborghini. Centro Stile, the brand’s design center, turns 20 this year, and the Fenomeno shows off what those two decades have built. Its stretched rear recalls endurance racers, while the front – shaped to echo a bull’s horns – ties it to Lamborghini’s roots, even being a hybrid. Every vent, wing, and curve has a job to do, balancing looks with aerodynamics.

The chassis is a full carbon fiber with lightweight body panels, which help keep the weight down and stiffness high. Braking is handled by upgraded carbon-ceramic discs, designed to handle intense heat. One-nut forged wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires were made specifically for this model. A standout new feature is Lamborghini’s 6D sensor system, which tracks vehicle motion across six axes, providing the driver with sharper feedback and better stability when the car demands.

Only exclusive people will get the car: Fewer than 30 will own one in the world

Lamborghini’s “few-off” cars have always been test beds for new ideas. The Fenomeno carries that forward: it’s both a preview of what’s next and a reminder of what makes the brand iconic. Meanwhile, Lambo is also doubling down on a fuel that would be accessible to everyone, as the company is not the only one chasing carbon neutrality; however, it is not as focused on this goal as Toyota and other Japanese manufacturers.

Disclaimer: Our coverage of events affecting companies is purely informative and descriptive.
