It is important to understand the SSA’s schedule, especially as winter approaches<\/h2>\n

Winter is steadily approaching in the U.S., and for many, it represents the approach of the holidays and the beauty and fun of snow. Unfortunately, for many others in the U.S., it also represents the approach of a higher cost of living. As the demand increases and the energy market conditions result in higher prices, some people will have to count their pennies to determine whether they can afford the increased power and fuel consumption. Thankfully, citizens with limited income and resources<\/strong>, and who meet other requirements, can depend on something called Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits each month.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some beneficiaries will receive two payments in October<\/h2>\n

SSI benefits are distributed by the Social Security Administration each month, and are usually distributed on the first day of each month. The reason for this consistency is to ensure that SSI beneficiaries receive their benefits on time so that they can afford their monthly essentials and expenses as usual. However, there are exceptions to the SSA’s payment schedule rule.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, the first day of the month happens to fall on a weekend or a federal holiday. When this happens, the SSA will distribute SSI benefits on the last business day before the first day of the month. For October’s upcoming SSI payment, there will thus be a surprise of two payments<\/strong>. This is because November 1 falls on a Saturday. SSI beneficiaries can thus look forward to the following two payment dates in October:<\/p>\n
