Making a big splash with a multi-year order and exclusive distribution agreement that will deliver its methanol-to-hydrogen technology to North America and the United Kingdom is a company called Element 1 Corp., a tech-savvy hydrogen generation company. But it is more than just a big company that makes noise about hydrogen or clean energy. Rather, it is the technology that embodies the hydrogen production to be a success.

This hydrogen solution fits in the palm of progress, so forget about big tanks and pipelines

One thing that is common in the energy sector regarding hydrogen is storage and infrastructure, including distribution tanks and networks that consist of anything but agile, pressurised tanks and cryogenic storage. However, Element 1 Corp is transforming this narrative by incorporating methanol-to-hydrogen (M2H) machines. These units can produce hydrogen on-site and where it is needed.

According to H2-View, Fuel cell and hydrogen combustion engine adoption is accelerated by the company’s technology, which solves the cost and supply security issues of hydrogen and frequently yields payback in months, according to CEO Dave Edlund. He added on and said,

“This order is further validation of our unique product offerings.”

Small-scale, localised hydrogen generation has the potential to accelerate the adoption of fuel cell technology in sectors where infrastructure has been a major impediment. It’s like giving the green energy transition a jetpack, as clean energy is generated on-demand, without the need for large centralised facilities or expensive refuelling stations.

A strategic agreement that may increase the incorporation of hydrogen into daily life

Element 1 Corp’s transformative decision aims at changing how we interact with hydrogen in daily life and how we perceive it too. With the goal of supplying hundreds of M2H units to the North American and UK markets, the company entered into an exclusive distribution arrangement and multi-year order with Zev Station Corporation and Zev Station UK Ltd., according to Businesswire.

These businesses are innovators on a quest to expand renewable energy infrastructure, not merely distributors. Element 1 is making sure its innovative technology reaches partners that understand how to make it matter by collaborating closely with Zev Station, particularly in underprivileged areas where EV charging infrastructure is still lagging behind.

It’s a wise choice. The M2H units can serve as clean, dependable energy sources by focusing on areas with weak grid access or little renewable generation. Not only does that benefit hydrogen, but it also benefits off-grid housing, emergency systems, remote workforces, and even rural EV charging stations. Being able to navigate hydrogen in this manner speaks volumes and gives us hope that hydrogen is not as complicated as we deem it to be.

Something futuristic: It smells a lot like methanol

Now that the Oregon-based company is willing to take hydrogen to the next level, it will be merged with something futuristic and that is methanol. To make the hydrogen journey smooth and easy, Element 1 can quietly fit two of these clean energy resources together: hydrogen and methanol. Methanol is already a global-scale resource utilised by global supply chains; therefore, Element 1 can easily access methanol and transform it into hydrogen.

What this means is there is no need to wait years just to construct new pipelines, fuelling stations for vehicles, telecommunications and more in an eco-friendly environment. H2-View explained that methanol-to-hydrogen generation machines are becoming more popular as an on-site and distributed hydrogen production solution, even if they are not yet widely used. The unit still releases carbon and generates low-purity hydrogen, though, unless green methanol is utilised. This hydrogen needs to be further refined using a PSA before it can be utilised in fuel cells and other uses.

In a world where clean energy is moving at a fast pace, an Oregon-based company will take hydrogen to the next level, and it wants to ensure it does not fall behind.
