This can be projected by the car type as well as its colour. For instance, sports cars indicate thrill-seeking, adventurous personalities, while an electric vehicle (EV) signals forward-thinking and environmentally conscientiousness. The new roadster by Tesla, on the other hand, could now signal endurance, as it aims to break every stopwatch after achieving 1,000 km on only one charge. Add an interesting colour, and you could be a very interesting person.

This is why Tesla has dedicated its time and energy to EVs

Nations across the world have been committing themselves to decreasing their carbon footprints, with a particular focus on a sustainable energy transition. Several industries have dedicated themselves as well, including the American multinational automotive and clean energy company, Tesla. The company’s main mission is to transition the world away from fossil fuels, with EVs being one of its strategies.

According to Investopedia, Tesla’s strategic approach to EVs includes:

Making EVs desirable with high performance

Facilitating mass adoption by heavily investing in building a Supercharger network

Operating its own design, production, sales, and service processes through vertically integrated “Gigafactories” to ensure quality and scale for EV production

The VP of Engineering, Lars Moravy, confirmed at the Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley at the X Takeover 2025 event, the long-awaited next-gen Roadster was still in development. This reaffirms what the CEO, Elon Musk, commented in 2024 after he promised the:

“most epic demo ever.”

The new Tesla Roadster aims to break all stopwatches

“It’s going to be ‘mind-blowing,’ as Elon says. We spent a lot of time last few years rethinking what we did and why we did it, and what would make an awesome and exciting, last, best driver’s car.” – Lars Moravy, VP of Engineering

The next-gen Roadster was introduced as a concept back in 2017, and Tesla promised it would feature a range of 997.79 km and a sub-2-second zero-to-97 km per hour sprint. The latter would reportedly be possible thanks to the Roadster’s SpaceX rocket package. According to Moravy, this package won’t just be an empty promise, as they’ve found ways to achieve the desired mass and a separate propulsion system.

Hopefully, Tesla will move its next-gen supercar to production with all the promised features soon, as Europe has already banned the Cybertruck on a massive scale. It would be a shame if the UK were hit next. The Roadster will reportedly also be the last EV that will not feature autonomous driving.

Breaking specs records could also break the bank

It has been a few years, which means that the Roadster should not be anything short of “epic” or expensive. At the time of its concept debut in 2017, the concept car could be reserved for approximately £38,825. Thanks to inflation, that would be £49266,56 in 2025.

Experts projected that the Roadster would now cost nearly £148,170.10, which could be justified, but only if it includes all the promised features. Its production is already five years late, so hopefully, customers will not have to wait much longer. Those who spent thousands to reserve the car have not even seen the promised demo versions.

They say that good things take time, but the longer Tesla takes to bestow its supercar onto the world, the more time others have to overtake the company. As the automaker continues to develop the long-awaited next-gen Roadster, China and the UK have teamed up to declare war on Tesla with a new “secret” car. It is a tale as old as time, and as automakers across the world continue to race against time to deliver the “next supercar,” we cannot help but wonder if some of them are missing the bigger picture.

Some people believe that the car you drive is a reflection of who you are.
