The vehicle was unveiled in the 2025 CES in Las Vegas, and the production will start in 2026. This car can become one of Honda’s bestsellers outside Asia once it hit the streets in Europe – and, most specific, the UK. On the other hand, the size of the car will have to be considered once you lock in on acquiring this vehicle: It’s big, electric and has an undistinguished style. The Japanese carmaker will have this car ready two years from now. Let’s have a closer look.

Honda will reinvent itself in 2027: New SUV is coming

First, this car will be launched to mark a new era for the company. The new Honda SUV will be one of the most powerful vehicles in the brand’s lineup, and it will have the same features as some of the best electric cars in the world, such as the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Skoda Enyaq. The design resembles what the brand did with the HR-V: a long back, a square shape blending into the lines of the front, and lots of internal space.

While this should be one of the main electric vehicles (EVs) from the brand in the next generation, the New Honda SUV will be the first of its kind. The prototype was shown earlier this year at the CES in Las Vegas, where most new projects and cars for 2026 and 2027 are on display for the public. While there aren’t many prototypes coming out of the factory, Honda seems to be close to the final product, but the UK will have to wait.

Two cars will join the line-up: New Honda SUV and Lambo inspired

The Honda 0 SUV and the Honda 0 Saloon give a first look at what’s coming from the brand in 2026. Both will roll off the production line at Honda’s new electric hub in Ohio and mark the company’s fourth generation of EVs, following the Fit EV, the compact Honda e, and the current Prologue — which was built with help from General Motors. The New Honda SUV, borrows some inspiration from the Space-Hub concept but goes its own way. Its silhouette looks fairly normal at first, until you reach the centre pillar.

The Honda 0 Saloon, on the other hand, has a shape that mixes a bit of Lamborghini flair with something out of a science fiction film. It sits low to the ground with a sharp front end and a smooth roofline. The tall doors and narrow windows give it a sporty edge, and the rear design stands out — the bumper curves up into a rectangle that carries a glowing, racetrack-style light bar. Maybe, it will be able to compete with the Tesla Roadster.

Everything looks different under the hood: it will be ‘home product’

The new Honda SUV and the 0 Saloon will have the new operating system, built fully in-house and named after its humanoid robot, Asimo. The system will connect every feature inside the vehicle — from safety tools to driver assistance and entertainment — and will get over-the-air updates to stay current. Honda hasn’t revealed the details of the powertrains yet, or how much performance we can expect. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch.

Autonomy level 3: Drivers won’t have to worry about steering the vehicle

An update the company gave the fans is that the new Honda SUV and 0 Saloon will be the firsts in North America with Level 3 self-driving technology. The same system already works in Japan’s Honda Legend, allowing hands- and eyes-off driving in limited conditions. Beyond Honda, a traditional British carmaker will also put another powerful EV on the streets.

Disclaimer: Our coverage of events affecting companies is purely informative and descriptive.
