$725 monthly checks start June 15 for 200 randomly selected Sacramento families with young children

Citizens in one Sacramento County pilot program might even be surprised by $725 checks arriving on June 15, just in time for summer vacation. Some might see it as just extra pocket money, while others will see it as a welcome financial relief. This pilot program will be paying its citizens just before summer vacation

Summer vacation is around the corner, however, not everyone is as excited because many Californian families are burdened with financial stress. Luckily, a Sacramento County initiative wants to assist these families by providing some financial aid and plans on doing so by distributing monthly stimulus checks to qualifying families in Sacramento.

The initiative is known as the Sacramento Family First Economic Support Pilot (FFESP), and it is a welcome relief in the present socio-economic predicaments, like the persistent poverty levels and the extremely high cost of living. The Sacramento Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services manages the FFESP, and it plans to lessen the effect of the ever-increasing cost of living on families with young children.

Only these citizens in California will qualify for the $725 checks

There are many struggling families in Sacramento, but it is usually difficult to distinguish which family is more in need, which is why the FFESP will be distributing the $725 checks only to the 200 randomly selected families. While the selection process will be done randomly, the requirements that applicants had to meet were more precise. This approach ensures that the initiative prioritizes families with young children in a more just manner.

Applicants who sent in their application before the deadline will be among the group who will be randomly chosen, but only if these primary requirements are met:

• You are the parent or legal guardian of at least one child aged 0–5
• The child stays with you at least 50% of the time
• You do not receive financial support from other guaranteed income programs
• Your total household income is below 200% of the federal poverty level per your household size
• You permanently reside in Sacramento in one of the following Zip codes:
  • 95815
  • 95821
  • 95823
  • 95825
  • 95828
  • 95838

The checks will be distributed from this date onwards

According to the Sacramento Family First Economic Support Pilot (FFESP) official schedule, payments will be made from June 15, 2025. The monthly payments will continue for one year, during which the selected families can use the $725 freely to help make ends meet. If you were selected for the FFESP, you would have been informed between May 5 and June 6 via email, text message, and/or phone call. Payments will be made by direct deposit or through debit cards.

Beneficiaries should take note that they will be required to show proof of their eligibility by providing one or more of the following documentation:

Proof of identity:

• Driver’s license or state ID
• Passport (U.S. or foreign)
• Permanent resident card (green card)
• Military ID
• Medical insurance card
• Tribal photo ID card
• Two non-photo IDs
• Naturalization certificate

Proof of residency in Sacramento:

• Lease agreement or mortgage statement
• Utility bills (water, electricity, etc.)
• A driver’s license with an updated address
• Medical insurance card

Proof of relationship to the child:

• Child’s birth certificate
• School or medical records

Proof of income:

• Recent tax returns
• Bank statements

California’s FFESP is a wonderful example of a pilot program that provides financial assistance to its citizens.
