Underground energy can power our homes

Your backyard may have the potential to power your home.

For generations, we have searched the Earth for the next big thing in energy production. The adoption of the clean energy sector has seen several nations turning to underground energy to produce the power needed for everyday life. Be it solar power, wind, or even the Earth itself, the options in energy production are vast.

How has your view of the energy sector changed in recent months?

Seabirds are flying thousands of miles into the desert and circling solar plants as if they’ve mistaken the sand for an ocean full of fish

Engineers watching bats near a solar plant in England realized the panels were tricking them into thinking they were water and changing their behavior

A small bird has taken over a plot of land, forcing the suspension of a 10-million-panel solar project

War is ravaging the global oil industry and shows no signs of easing up

The current situation in the Middle East has seen the price of oil skyrocket.

We are well above the $100 per barrel mark for black gold, and things are only going to get worse as Operation Epic Fury continues. Several nations have been forced to lean on the oil they have stored away for this exact situation.

What option do we have but to lean on the oil industry?

Despite the progress made in adopting the renewable energy sector around the globe, most nations still rely on the oil industry to meet the commercial-scale demand for energy generation.

The choices for energy production are becoming as wide as ever

While the war in Iran wages on, the advancement of the renewable energy sector has been a shining light in the darkness of global warfare.

When choosing to power your home, the clean energy options can sometimes be a little overwhelming. New types of solar panel systems that mimic nature are making the choice that much more complicated.

From the solar power sector to the energy stored deep within the Earth, powering our lives can be achieved from a variety of sources.

Recent expeditions have explored using the energy in the Earth’s crust to power the world of tomorrow. But geothermal energy is a tricky source of power to develop without the efforts of the scientific community.

The question for us as a society becomes, what will the cities of tomorrow use as their primary source of power?

One New Yorker has developed an answer that may surprise you. New types of energy-generating systems are being developed in every corner of the globe, but who would have thought that the answer has been waiting for us in the iconic state of New York?

An egg-shaped home that sources its energy directly from the Earth

The recent development of the Egg Geo company has seen Jay Egg, the creator of the company, proving to the world that geothermal energy and thermal networks in the US can provide the nation with vast amounts of energy.

The consulting firm provides the foundation to develop an off-grid home that relies on geothermal energy to power itself.

Jay Egg has over 35+ years studying the geothermal industry and has developed a home that relies on the energy stored deep within the Earth to not only heat his home, but power it as well. So while you and your neighbors debate how to live an off-grid lifestyle, developments in geothermal energy have emerged.

What is the latest NY-based project for Egg Geo

The firm is currently evaluating a project in Manhattan that will replace a natural gas-fired power plant with a massive thermal energy network capable of powering a 15-storey building.

The project aims to make use of ground-source heat pumps and wastewater heat recovery systems to power over 2,800 apartments in New York.

If the plan moves forward, it could become the latest in clean energy generation that will force the detractors to rethink their position on renewable energy. Most nations are extremely concerned about the current global oil shortage emerging out of the Strait of Hormuz.

But this development by Egg Geo will make powering our homes as simple as reaching into the ground beneath us. Would you welcome this type of energy generation in your home?
