“The way people are banking has changed, with over 21 million customers choosing our apps to manage their money.”

What’s more, this major banking firm was also the first to introduce barcode cash deposits to the UK. The Lloyds spokesperson added that:
“Alongside our app, our customers can use any Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch, the Post Office or banking hubs for their everyday banking, and deposit cash at over 30,000 PayPoint locations.”
Residents in Wales should brace themselves for two branch closures in 2026. According to the South Wales Argus, the two branches that will be closing are:
- Ammanford, which will close on 12 January 2026
- Chepstow, which will close on 7 October 2026
A silver lining for residents in Chepstow is the new banking hub that will be set up for those who prefer in-person service. It will reportedly be the second hub in Monmouthshire and one of 11 new sites set to be opened in the UK.
The new hub will be managed by LINK and will join the UK’s other 244 hubs that have opened. The official opening date must still be confirmed, but Lloyds banking customers can rest assured that Cash Access UK will deliver it before the 2026 branch closures.
