NYC worst gridlock dates revealed

The city of New York is set to experience one of the worst gridlock dates soon. Driving around the streets of New York has become exceedingly challenging for even the most patient of drivers. Long lines of cars along the NYC streets have become as much a part of the city’s identity as the iconic NYC hotdog stands that litter the streets. With the annual influx of tourists, both domestic and international, the streets of New York are set to get a whole lot busier. The city has therefore issued a warning for drivers to avoid using a car in certain areas.

The City of New York has urged drivers to leave their cars at home

The City has issued a warning to the residents to leave their cars at home and instead opt for the subway, or even better, use a bicycle on the new dedicated bike lanes that the city created during the UN General Assembly. New York already has some of the worst traffic anywhere in the country; add to that the annual influx of tourists, both domestic and international, and driving anywhere in the city will be exceedingly difficult this December.

City officials created the dedicated First Avenue Tunnel protected bike lane during the UN General Assembly to reduce traffic congestion and promote the use of bikes on New York City streets. The bike lane was such a success that the city now has plans to add more dedicated lanes in the near future, so be sure to get your helmet ready and don your best bike riding outfit this December.

New York has issued a warning for drivers to aviod certian areas this December

City officials have issued the annual Congestion Alert Days warning to the residents of New York. The warning outlines the specific dates where congestion is expected to peak as the litany of US citizens make their way either into or out of the city. Congestion in New York is no laughing matter, with cars lining up for miles at a time, bringing the city to a standstill.

The worst congestion alert day is approaching the City of New York

The concept of alerting the public to the congestion that will encompass the city has been a welcome service by the city, as millions of drivers are often forced to reconsider leaving the house at all during December. The absolute worst day is yet to hit the city; 18 December will be a day when you may want to rethink your travel plans, if you have any, as the official statement from the NYC Department of Transportation has warned.

The city has warned drivers not even think about using a car in any shape on the 18th of December, as the city expects the congestion to ramp up. December brings with it a litany of people to New York City’s streets, all of whom pay no attention to the actual residents just trying to go about their daily lives. NYC has also implemented a new speed limit to make the streets a little bit safer this year, too.

Be sure to avoid driving around the city on December 18 this year

As the end of the year is set to hit us in the next couple of weeks, New York will be littered with a wave of tourists and locals who want to bring in the new year with a sense of occasion. While most will most likely flock to Times Square, the rest of the city will see drastic congestion that will effectively bring the city streets to a complete standstill. With the federal government implementing a new speed limit on the Interstate highway network, at least someone is addressing the problems on America’s roads.
