The world is not stopping, and everyone is seeking ways to keep the environment green, be it through wind, solar, or any other way to generate renewable energy and power, considering how much fossil fuels and carbon emissions have harmed the environment. Therefore, companies have been working, researching, and studying tirelessly to find alternatives that not only give us renewable energy but lasting renewable energy that will reduce anything toxic and set a path for the emerging generations to come to understand the importance of such alternatives and the role they play.

A clean energy wonder you can grow in your backyard or a public park

We are so accustomed to conventional products such as wind turbines and solar, which is not bad; in fact, these have contributed a certain percentage to the increase in going green. According to research, in 2024, wind energy produced a little more than 8% of the world’s electricity supply, while solar power made up almost 7%. However, better options have been made due to innovation and advanced technology.

While we are still at it, have you ever seen or imagined tree-like or shaped wind energy generated? If not, then there is one, a  36,000 kWh wind tree that just hit the U.S. A French business called New World Wind developed the wind tree as a way to step into the world of eco-friendliness and provide renewable electricity for the locations. Named Aeroleaf Hybrid, it is meant to rotate to catch low-speed wind from any direction.

According to an energy research article by Reccessary, the wind tree’s leaves capture air, and in its rotation to capture wind, there is a petal at the bottom with solar panels that capture or absorb sunlight. It is sort of like a two-in-one type of development. In other words, Aeroleaf Hybrid has been made to function in two modes, especially with sunlight, which is not always available due to changing weather conditions, and at nighttime too.

The wind tree is 10 metres tall, according to Reccessary, and it blends in well with the different urban settings within an area, thanks to its leaf-like microturbines. They can function at speeds as low as 9 km/h in extremely light breezes. Additionally, they were not made for heavy functionality but as a stealthy, covert, and environmentally beneficial alternative by producing renewable energy in metropolitan settings.

The secret you did not know about: There’s more to these wind trees

They do more than just generate power. Three steel trunks and smaller branches are used to create the Wind Tree, an artificial tree. With power ranging from 300 W to 10 kW incorporated with three different wind trees, those being hybrid models, bushes, and trees, there is more than just producing power; however, the wind tree can power workplaces, public furniture, parking lots, and even devices as big as vehicle charging stations.

The aesthetic aspect of the tree is covered

Aesthetics play a significant role in the world today, and everything has to merge, blend, and match for it to appeal to the eye. With conventional solar panels, as an example, they have not been aesthetically pleasing because black or dark blue does not match with everything, but with Aeroleaf Hybrid, with the option to select the hue of the tree’s trunks and branches, the leaves can be altered to match the colours of a business or street.

This French company has provided insight that sustainability, elegance, and aesthetics can integrate well, as long as it meets the basic renewable energy requirements that provide a better life for the community and surrounding areas, ensuring that everyone benefits. Did you know that to further improve the tree’s features and functionality, you can add USB benches, charging connections, or decontaminating sheets?
