Pininfarina’s B95 is one of the fastest EV in the world. The move toward electric vehicles is picking up speed, pushing the auto industry to redefine performance and design in a world aiming for zero emissions. High-performance EVs are no longer just prototypes or showpieces — they’re carving out a real space in the market and drawing serious interest from both everyday drivers and collectors. These cars are not produced in large scale, but through exclusive projects and high-end partnerships, it’s finding new ways to fuse sleek aesthetics with advanced electric technology.
Pininfarina’s B95
As the industry adapts, this company’s latest moves highlight the ongoing dialogue between heritage and the future of driving – setting the stage for what’s coming next in high-performance electric vehicles.
Automobili Pininfarina has long been synonymous with elegant automotive design. For over six decades, the brand partnered with Ferrari, helping shape iconic models such as the Testarossa, 250 GT, 308 GTB, 456 GT, and 550 Maranello. Though that chapter with Ferrari has closed, it hasn’t slowed down.
The company has continued to leave its mark well beyond Maranello — and its latest creation is a bold step into the electric future. Their latest achievement is the Pininfarina B95, which was named ‘Best Sports Car Design’ for 2024 by CarDesign Spain.
A electric vehicle never had this much power
The B95 is the world’s first electric hyper Barchetta. The ‘B’ stands for Barchetta, and ‘95’ marks the design house’s 95th anniversary. Only ten of these bespoke road-ready racers will be made, each customized for its owner. Inspired by vintage aircraft, the low-slung B95 boasts a patented set of adjustable aero screens and other striking features.
Under the hood, it packs a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery powering four high-output electric motors, delivering nearly 2,000 horsepower. The company says the B95 can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds and reach a top speed over 186 mph (300 km/h).
This announcement comes in the middle of a successful U.S. tour, where the Battista and B95 Gotham have already been shown to potential clients in places like Los Gatos, Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, and Salt Lake City. The two hypercars also had a standout presentation at the Las Vegas Concours luxury auto show.
After the event, select members of Robb Report’s RR1 private club and The Concours Club got a chance to experience the top-tier performance and design of Automobili Pininfarina’s Battista and B95 Gotham firsthand.
The industry thoughts on the car
According to Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, Florida holds a special place for the company due to the strong presence of their vehicles and its receptive market for Italian luxury cars. The new partnership with a retail dealer in West Palm Beach is aimed at meeting the high demand for these vehicles in the state, connecting with local car enthusiasts, and offering them top-tier luxury and performance.
The company push into the U.S. shows its commitment to bringing the promise of ‘Dream Cars, Made Real’ to North America. The brand leads the way in Italian luxury, focusing on a bespoke approach that tailors each vehicle to meet the unique tastes of its clients. Every car is a handcrafted work of art, reflecting the personality of its owner and the skill of Automobili Pininfarina’s artisans.
Automakers making cars “on demand”
Automakers making cars “on demand” is not unique to the Italian automaker engineers, as the exclusiveness being one of the marketing tools for the brand, Bentley is not much behind. The brand is reviving its legendary Bower model, nearly a century after it first debuted in 1929. After a lengthy development and 18 months of testing, the car has been approved for production. True to Bentley’s tradition, this mythical model will remain just as exclusive as its other luxury offerings.
