With the world heading towards a low-carbon future, thousands of automakers started looking for alternative fuels for their new releases. From new fuels with low pollutant emissions to electric vehicles, the technologies applied by the automotive industry are impressive. Recently, a Chinese car manufacturer announced that it is about to unveil the first car with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The announcement was surprising, as the company is neither BYD nor Tesla in North America. That is all we know about the release, which was officially held on June 11.

This is the first vehicle to combine automotive power with the performance of AI

While artificial intelligence technologies have advanced in recent years, the automotive industry has continued to search for alternative forms of fuel for its engines. With the development of electric vehicles and the improvement of engines and auxiliary driving systems, the next step was to integrate IA technology into the cars.

In an announcement made on June 11, the first vehicle to have artificial intelligence technology completely integrated into its system was unveiled. The SUV combines cutting-edge technology, comfort, and performance in the same car. And surprisingly, it was not developed by BYD or Tesla, which seems to have other plans with this vehicle.

Meet the Xpeng G7, the first SUV with artificial intelligence

The Xpeng G7 is a mid-size SUV that measures 4892 mm in length, 1925 mm in width, and 1655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2890 mm. Its design is unique, with black exterior mirrors, hidden door handles, and privacy glass for the rear windows. Also, the car has a panoramic sunroof with a coating for effective sun protection.

But the most amazing part is its interior. With a minimalist design, the Xpeng G7 has the “Chasing Light Panorama AR-HUD”, a system developed in collab with Huawei. It boasts an 87-inch display area, capable of projecting information across multiple lanes and covering eight driving scenarios. The system also provides warnings and is able to assist the driver in adverse weather conditions.

The highlight is with the Xpeng’s self-developed Turing AI Chip, which is described as a “computing power ceiling”. Due to its particularities, the IA component of this car is capable of driving autonomous and intelligent cockpit large models. Combined with the other systems implemented at the G7, the car is capable of “predicting the future” by driving through possible scenarios and conditions, considering automatic adjustments in the “light carpet” for obstacles and slopes, always ensuring the driver’s safety.

All of this technology is combined with a powerful electric engine

According to Xpeng, the G7 will be equipped with the same electric engine used on the Xpeng G6. It has a peak power of 218 kilowatts (292 hp). This engine will be powered by a lithium-iron phosphate battery pack from CALB. Due to its features, the G7 is expected to have low energy consumption, which is a huge differential considering the amount of technology embedded in the vehicle.

Besides having its details announced, the price of the new Xpeng G7 is yet to be revealed. Specialists believe that it will be priced around 2500,00 yuan, the equivalent of $36,000.

Pre-sale details are about to be revealed

According to a statement made by Xpeng, the details about the pre-sales of Xpeng’s G7 will be revealed after the car’s release. Besides the proximity to the pre-sale, the first units are planned to be delivered to the customers in the third quarter of 2025. Until then, all we have to do is enjoy the releases and first reviews of this car that promises to be the future of the automotive industry. The G7 represents a new line of cars that combine technology and performance, and seems to be a great concurrent for luxury vehicles, like this hybrid SUV capable of combining hydrogen and electricity.
