Ford Maverick 2025 – 63,898 units recalled for loose airbag indicator light
In 2025, Ford rolled out a mid-cycle refresh for the Maverick. The success was almost instantaneous, and the car overcame some concurrent by far. But after some reports, the company made a safety recall that affected 63,989 units.
According to some sources, the reason was an issue regarding the retaining clips used to secure the passenger airbag. These clips disabled the airbag indicator light. Once this indicator becomes dislodged, the driver and front passenger will not be informed whether the front passenger airbags are either on or off. Vehicles that were assembled at the Hermosillo plant, in Mexico, from April 11, 2024, through April 5, 2025, may present this imperfection.
Ford F-150 Lightning BEV 2022-2023 – 5,118 units recalled for problems regarding the stability control
Another model that needed an emergency recall was the Ford F-150 Lightning BEV encompassing 2022 and 2023 models. About 5,118 vehicles showed problems regarding the stability control, which on the affected cars is carried over between ignition cycles instead of returning to default operation with each ignition cycle.
The affected owners may experience a reduced ESC state after using off-road mode. According to the company, the affected vehicles were produced between March 17, 2022, and February 2, 202,3, at the Rouge complex in Michigan.
Ford Explorer 2025 and Lincoln Aviator 2025 – 206 units recalled due to problems with improperly tightened bolts
A small number of the 2025 model year Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator may have been incorrectly assembled. As said by the company, one of the front subframe mounting bolts was installed with a damaged tool. Due to that, the bolt is prone to loosen over time. Users affected may notice rattling and clunking from the front suspension.
Lincoln Aviator 2020-2023 and Lincoln Corsair 2020-2023 -3,227 units recalled due to problems with the seatbelt warning
In December 2022, Ford started the recall for 101,000 units of the Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair due to a problem with the seatbelt warning system. In the affected vehicles, when the driver’s belt is not buckled, the audible warning signal makes a fuss for less than four seconds. With this problem, the cars are not complying with the requirements to ensure the safety of the driver and passenger in case of a crash.
Besides the old recall, Ford estimates that 3,227 cars may have been incorrectly updated, but it wants to rectify the situation. The vehicles were produced for the 2020 through 2023 model years.
The owners will not be charged
According to Ford, the recalls have the same proposal: ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. Once the recall is made, the owners will be notified about the necessity to seek a dealership for the repair, and they will not be charged for the service.
