That Tesla is capable of creating full of innovation and technology is nothing new. But even knowing the company’s history of success, its most recent announcement was capable of surprising everyone. Since it was unveiled, Tesla’s Robotaxi has been blowing people’s minds, but we are close to seeing how it will work in practice. According to some sources, the release date for the Robotaxi is nearby, and the revelation of some top-secret information about this project is definitive proof that we will see it soon.

It is time to see the Robotaxi in action

Tesla’s Robotaxi, also known as Cybercab, is one of the biggest innovations in passenger transportation. Through this technology, cars powered by electric engines will transport passengers quickly, safely, and without the need for a driver behind the wheel.

As well as being innovative in its proposal, the project also shows innovations in the design of the vehicle, which has no steering wheel or pedals. All of Robotaxi’s functionality is carried out autonomously by the passengers, who control the vehicle via a mobile app, but it is just the beginning.

One of the project’s great secrets has finally been revealed!

According to some recently revealed information, the Cybercabs will use induction chargers, no longer needing cables to recharge their batteries. The change is something unique in the field of electric cars, and proves that the company is aligned with a highly technological future, with artificial intelligence technologies supporting a green future.

With all the improvements, Robotaxi promises to be a game-changer for the passenger transport industry and the automotive trade, which will have a lot to overcome to reach the levels of innovation presented by the model.  In addition, passenger safety studies continue to be a priority for Tesla, which has said on several occasions that it is “crazy about safety”. As a result, it is safe to say that both Robotaxi and other future models launched by the company will be relentlessly tested before they hit the streets.

How much does it cost to take a ride on a Robotaxi?

As the launch date of the Robotaxi approaches, the possible cost of a ride, as well as the amount spent for a private Cybercab, has been speculated on by enthusiasts and the specialized press.

According to some sources, the operational cost of the Robotaxi is expected to be around 12 cents per kilometer, which would be equivalent to 20 cents per mile. Because of the low cost, it is expected that the release of this technology will affect prices charged for passenger transportation, in order to help lower the cost of urban travel, making car drives more accessible to the general public.

If you are interested in buying a Cubercab, the investment cost is a little higher, but still surprisingly lower than expected. According to some reports, a vehicle of this model is estimated to cost less than $30,000.

When will we see the Robotaxi on the streets?

As we have said before, security is a key factor for Tesla during the Robotaxi launch process, which is why some changes have been made to the services’ release date. Initially scheduled to start operating on June 12 in the city of Austin, Texas, a new probable date of availability was recently announced. According to some sources and a post made by Elon Musk himself at X, the service is expected to be available from June 22nd. However, if further tests are needed to improve passenger safety, this date could undergo another change. As reinforced by Musk, new tests will be conducted on the streets to certify that the vehicles operate properly.
