In 2026, green is the new black. This can be observed worldwide across various industries, especially as the world is more focused on eco-friendliness and sustainability. A particular Japanese car with Green inspiration is coming to us soon, as the Nissan Tekton is finally arriving in 2026! This model has unique performance, boasting 380 hp and a design that can only be described as “Himalayan” perfection. While this model has been designed for a particular market, its appeal won’t be limited to just one.
Japanese car with Green inspiration
The Japanese multinational automaker Nissan has decided to add to its SUV repertoire, albeit a more compact and practical SUV model with a greener inspiration. This model is the Nissan Tekton, and it has been exclusively designed for Nissan’s Indian market. Some reports believe that this model will be a hybrid. According to Saurabh Vatsa, Nissan Motor India’s Managing Director:
“The Nissan Tekton is going to be at the centre of the Nissan Motor India’s resurgence story and offers a glimpse into the future of our product portfolio in the country.”
However, this SUV model will also be available to other markets soon, including the South African market in 2026. The name of the model says it all, as “Tekton” translates to “craftsman” from Greek. So, as we prepare for the arrival of the Nissan Tekton in 2026, the world can expect a model with inspired craftsmanship. Find out more below.
Nissan Tekton arrives in 2026
According to Nissan’s website, the Tekton’s design was inspired by its “most iconic SUV,” namely the Nissan Patrol. The Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.’s Corporate Executive, Alfonso Albaisa, added that the Tekton’s design will be stylish and imposing, setting a new standard in the Nissan India market and beyond, adding that it will embody:
“the best of Nissan’s SUV DNA.”
So, how exactly will this new SUV model equally “disrupt and dominate?” Well, besides promised reliability and an inspiring design, consumers can also look forward to pioneering, high-tech features. After sparking conversations last year that Nissan planned on changing its name, the new, powerful SUV model with “Himalayan” perfection could be what Nissan needs to reestablish its position across its select global markets.
But you don’t have to take our word for it, as the “Himalayan” design and high-tech features speak for themselves.
Boasting 380 HP and “Himalayan” perfection
In anticipation of the Nissan Tekton’s release, customers can look forward to design elements that reportedly drew inspiration from the Himalayas, thus giving a subtle nod to the region. This will be seen on the SUV’s “Double-C” accent on the front doors that portrays a slight mountain range motif. According to Nissan India, other things to look forward to include:

- C-pillar rear door handles
- Platform sharing Renault Duster underpinnings

“With its commanding stance, bold looks and premium interiors, we are confident that it will be a segment disruptor, appealing to customers seeking a robust yet refined C-SUV. This model will spearhead Nissan’s growth story in India.” – Saurabh Vatsa
The Nissan Tekton is predicted to launch in India in the middle of this year. So far, official pricing has not been announced, and the cost of the new SUV will most likely be announced closer to the launch date. According to CarBuzz, the Tekton’s engine specifications will also likely be confirmed closer to this date. CarBuzz further predicted that the Duster’s turbocharged 1.0-liter and 1.3-liter gasoline units can be expected for the Tekton. Hopefully, it will prevent future talks of mergers, such as Nissan’s almost-merger with Honda.
