A Virginia famliy have reached their boiling point and has grown tired of the sky-high electricity bills.

The cost of living around the nation has reached unprecedented levels. Inflation is now the number one concern for the majority of the population. And with the cost of everything headed on a one-way road upwards. What options do we have in reducing our need to lean on the national grid?

There may be an answer to these burning questions.

At first it seems like a decorative tulip sculpture — Then the blades start moving and the turbine harvests wind from all directions

In the 1970s, an American living off-grid searched for energy beyond sun and wind — He ended up leading a powerful movement

Scientists create the first ‘liquid’ solar energy in a bottle — It absorbs sunlight and stores it at the molecular level, outperforming batteries

What choice do we have but to rely on fossil fuels

That particular question has become slightly easier to answer in recent times.

The conventional oil and gas sectors that have dominated the airways of the energy radio station have come at a high cost to the environment. Climate disasters are now an all too common and concerning issue for us as a society.

As this reality is now much simpler to understand, the clean and renewable energy production that comes from solar and wind power has expanded.

But another, more circular option has been making headlines in recent years.

Clean energy: A green option that saves the planet, and us

The need to rapidly move away from the fossil fuel-based energy sector that has dominated the world has become a top priority.

No longer can we rely on the oil and gas markets to meet our collective energy needs. So what other options are available for large-scale energy generation, we hear you asking? A lot to be honest.

Advancements in wind power technology have catapulted the sector to the front of our minds.

But as one state found out, wind turbines do not always operate at full capacity. But the options are plentiful despite the challenges now faced by the renewable energy sector.

Relying on nature to provide the energy resources we need for everyday life has always been a major factor when deciding on how to power the world. And experts now believe that certain sparsely populated regions of the nation may hold the key to powering our lives for years to come.

One recent development called a Living Energy Farm has opened the door to a more circular energy life that we need to chase down like a lion.

An energy revelation has taken place in one iconic state in the union

The Living Energy Farm is an idyllic 127-acre community in Virginia that intentionally opted to prove that living off-grid is not only possible, but could be a comfortable and modern way to live out the rest of our lives.

The community in Virginia focuses its collective efforts on affordable, sustainable technology that can power the entire population.

They achieve their lofty ambitions of a life disconnected from the grid through prioritizing energy conservation. A notable passive solar design also plays a part, while the “daylight drive” DC microgrid aligns energy-intensive tasks with the availability of the sun’s rays.

The Living Energy farm that will change the world, for good

The Living Energy Farm also uses innovative super-insulated straw bale construction methods, proving that it is much more than just an alternative energy production dream.

Through all the ambitious energy-saving plans that they use, the farm has achieved the dream of a complete zero-fossil-fuel, self-sufficient lifestyle.

The community has been living this way for at least 16 years and has no plans to reconnect to the national grid. While you might be imagining a community on the outskirts of society, building their own illegal energy production methods. The reality is far different, as they are breaking no laws that we know of.

Would you consider moving your whole family to a Living Energy Farm?
