It does not matter what happens to Elon Musk’s company, Tesla; it always finds its way back. Just a few months into this year, a lot has happened, from vandalism to tensions between Tesla and Canada, just to mention a few, that have taken a toll on the company and reduced its revenue drastically. However, when we talk about resilience and pushback power, Tesla has it. When it comes to Sedans and SUVs, Tesla has been quiet, and it seemed as if they did not want to make any amendments or evolutions. But guess what? Two of Tesla’s oldest models are getting ready for a makeover.
Tesla has finally focused its attention on the ‘twin cars’
We will talk about the twin cars in a second. However, since their introductions in 2021, customers have been wondering when another innovation will come about. According to the most recent information, which was verified by Lars Moravy, VP of Vehicle Engineering at Tesla, the wait is almost over. By the end of 2025, there should be something more elegant, developed and appealing to the eye. The expectations are high.
The reason behind all this talk is that Elon Musk is known to be a “show-off”. He always wants to improve, innovate, upgrade and keep up with the trends and, at times, be the trend himself. So these two models have been stagnant for almost four years without a basic announcement of improvement; it has everyone wondering what could be happening.
Finally, Tesla is showing the Model S and X the affection they deserve
We refer to the updated Models S and X as “twin cars” even though they aren’t officially classified as such. The models need a refresh; however, not until the end of this year. This is because, for now, they want to focus on something else which seems to be a priority and that is launching a more reasonably priced next-generation car before the second quarter of 2025.
There are other underlying reasons why the refresh has failed over the past few years since its introduction to the market. Just like any other company that produces, they expect sales and growth. Therefore, with Tesla’s Model S and X, the volume of both cars had dropped by 50% because Musk’s company planned to sell about 100,000 units annually, and that did not happen.
It is surprising how important Tesla’s twin updates are
This is not just a wave of concern; it is a real thing that needs to be done. Additionally, it is not a coincidence that both models need a touch-up. These are two of Tesla’s classic cars; then they will straighten the market for Tesla and prove that they are a strategic company willing to win their customers back, and an indication that they are paying attention.
Lars Moravy, Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, said,
“Just give it a minute. We’ll get there. The upgrade a few years ago was bigger than most people thought in terms of architecture and structure; We’ll give it some love later this year. Everyone here has a little place in their heart for S/X. They are not going anywhere anytime soon.”
Here’s everything we know about Tesla’s upcoming ‘twin cars’. There are key areas and aspects likely to receive an upgrade, and that is both the interior and exterior looks of the vehicles, and the software updates, and these are technologically advanced vehicles. Although there is no full information on what the updates will entail, expect something. There is an expectancy that if Tesla could just bring it up close to Lucid, that would be elite for the company. Another major update will likely be the transition to a 48V low-voltage electrical system, something similar to the Cybertruck’s upgrade.
