Pickups, American muscle, hatchback European models – everything has at least two versions, and now it’s time for one of the most traditional brands to come back in style with its mythical car. Most cars in the industry are coming out of the factory with hybrid and electric powertrains, in order for the brand responsible for building a certain car to maintain a relevant position within the industry. On the other hand, some classic vehicles are coming out with versions that draw criticism from old-school fans.

Old cars are coming back in style

Not only is maintaining the DNA from previous models a necessity in the car manufacturing industry nowadays, but also creating a different, exclusive experience for those driving the car. In this area, British brands like Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Bentley are the leaders, and it’s not common to see mythical cars from these brands on the street.

Between these three iconic brands, Bentley is the one leading the ‘exclusiveness’. The cars cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and sometimes the price can surpass the one million mark, but those who buy them don’t complain about the high prices because there aren’t many exclusive vehicles after driving a Bentley. But now, they combined exclusiveness with nostalgia.

Bentley is bringing back its iconic Blower model, nearly 100 years after it first came out in 1929. The recreation of the car went through a long phase of testing and has now completed 18 months of testing. It has received the green light to start production, but this mythical car will be just as exclusive as other models from the manufacturer.

Bentley is bringing back their most mythical car

The car became synonymous with elegance when it was first developed by Sir Henry “Tim” Birkin and the Bentley Boys to become the fastest car at the time and a Grand Prix contender. Later, the Bentley Blower would inspire Ian Fleming to include the car in the early novels of James Bond before the DB5 took the spot. The new Bentley model will be 100% electric, and only 349 cars will be produced.

The Blower Jnr went through a three-day testing on the Channel Island of Jersey, where it was put to the test to see if the adjustments made by the engineers were enough to bring the mythical car back. It will also feature a fully electric 48-volt powertrain, with the new car being around 85% of the size of the original, measuring 3.72 meters long and 1.48 meters wide. The car will be able to reach a top speed of 45 miles per hour in the United Kingdom.

The company responsible for making Bentley’s Head of Product Communications and Heritage Collection, Mike Sawyer’s, dream come alive is the Hedley Studio, a luxury automobile company that specializes in reinterpreting mythical cars while keeping in mind the advancements made by the industry. The company creates limited edition and scaled-down versions of cars.

Bentley to use a third party to bring back the car

Ben Hedley, the CEO and founder of the studio, is working closely with clients around the world to make their preferences and ideas come to reality – the action may hint that multiple cars have already been sold to specific clients with their preferences. Another great news for those who bought the vehicle is that it will be delivered in the second quarter of 2025.

The Hedley Studios have created smaller versions of iconic cars like the Ferrari Testa Rossa J, with a 75% scale reproduction, the Aston Martin DB5 (Junior) – the James Bond mythical car – built to 66% of the original size and only 1,059 pieces made, the Bugatti Baby II with only 500 pieces being made, and now the Bentley Blower Jnr.
